The Diaspora Country Index (DCI), based in Washington, DC, London, UK, and Accra, Ghana, is an independent and non-partisan Think-and-Do Tank that conducts policy research regarding diaspora professionals and their role in development efforts in emerging and frontier markets. Our work involves extensive empirical research and collaboration with the global policy community to address key policy issues affecting low- and middle-income countries, as well as potential partners such as governments, institutions, and the private sector.
Overtime, we will expand the index to include other frontier and emerging markets. The DCI should be utilized by Global South countries to engage their Diaspora professionals to support sustainability, innovation, and economic development. By ranking and highlighting the interactions between Global South countries and their diaspora professionals, this annual index report would seek to enhance governance and transparency, science and innovation, and economic development.
